the sliding contact surfaces of angular contact spherical plain bearings are spherical in shape and inclined at an angle to the bearing axis. Consequently, these bearings are well suited for accommodating combined (radial and axial) loads. Single angular contact spherical plain bearings can only accommodate axial loads acting in one direction. These bearings can be separated, enabling the rings to be mounted separately.
SKF manufactures steel/PTFE FRP (fibre reinforced polymer containing PTFE) maintenance-free angular contact spherical plain bearings as standard. Designs with other sliding surface combinations are available on request.
- GAC..F: Open (without seals); self-lubricating capability; factory greased; does not require relubrication, however, relubrication can extend bearing service life; available in metric sizes
- GACD..TX: Open (without seals), high performance bearing with self-lubricating sliding surface; available in metric sizes
- GACD..SA: Open (without seals), multi-groove system, can be relubricated via lubrication holes and an annular groove in the outer ring;
- GAZ..SA: available in metric and inch (Z part of designation) sizes
- GEZP(R)..S: Open (without seals), multi-groove system, can be relubricated via lubrication holes and an annular groove in the inner ring and the two outer rings; available in inch (Z part of designation) sizes
